His name was Fletch and he had the most ridiculous comb over in the history of comb overs. He also had the concession on Waikiki at Fort Derussy to rent windsurfers to the tourists.

This was back when windsurfing was kinda new and interesting.

Trouble was the sailing sucks in Waikiki. No wind. But that’s besides the point really.

Anyways he had this rag tag collection of shitty boards and this burnt out dude probably about 40 sat in a low lawn chair every day for like 8 hours taking breaks every hour or so to hit the bong. Then he would just pontificate on things.

He’d be like “ yellow is the colour of the sun “ or “ good snag “ if he saw you pick up on particularly hot girl.

But sometimes he’d really dig deep.

“Dude…… the older you get the faster time accelerates.”

“You shouldn’t spend too much time working the beach here in paradise….. because BAM! You turn around and 20 years have gone by”
