It was a miracle. Just as we rolled up to Mt Ste Anne the patrol was peeling the tape off the formerly closed runs. Each piste was untracked with a foot of fresh snow. Every run that day was superb as we made our way across the mountain. I think early season skiing in the east can be the best mainly because no moguls have formed on the steep runs so the powder is perfect for long slashing turns. Just hope you don't chunk out on the rocks just inches below.
