And so that was our fate, stuck in a no mans land between north and south. Stopping to view the scene around it is easy to feel the overwhelming sensation that in the blink of an eye every thing can change. One instant in a life time of instances can be the fulcrum on which everything balances.
It was just about that time that the VW bug hit the patch of blowing snow and began to slowly spin out of control. Glancing over at the driver you could see that he was gripping the wheel in fear of what was to come. “Oh Shit” was all that was heard as seemingly in slow motion the beetle completed two revolutions, each time around you could see the bus drawing nearer and nearer. The impact trajectories were calculated and in that moment the two in the VW knew it would be bad.
Suddenly time sped up and only by the narrowest of margins did the enourmous Voyager bus blast past the spinning small car in a wind whipped blizzard of snow. “Whuummp!” the car stuffed itself into the opposite snow bank deep and soft as a warm duvet on a cold December night. The quiet was overwhelming for a moment as the sheer terror passed into something more akin to nervous excitement. “Fuck did you see how close we came to that bus” All they could do was shake off that moment of fate where everything hung in the balance.
