when I worked on oahu i met alot of crazy japanese. mostly newly weds and the dynamic was always the same they traveled in packs. the dudes always chain smoked marlboro's and walked together while their girls, caked in way out pink lipstick on pale alabaster skin and weirded out frilly bathing suits, stayed in a giggly pack several steps behind. They never spoke to one and other. I was renting em jet skiis. So even though they paid for both the chix would be to timid to ride or even talk. The dudes would just blast off the barge and ride crazily totally ignoring the rules I tried to lay out for them and eventually they would careen wildly out of control and need a rescue or miraculasouly they'd make it back with out killing or being killed.
