Quebec city story
Gasing up in Montreal during the rain storm that accompanied Hurricane Floyd, I didn't realize it but I forgot to put the gas cap back on. This would prove most distressing as the further I drove the more the truck acted weird. Hesitations and lack of power. At midnight it was raining so hard I pulled over and slept in the back outside Quebec city. The next morning the truck wouldn't go faster than 30 kmh. I was bummed. Fortunately the wind was howling and I slooooowly drove down to port St Francois on the south shore and was greeted by all time St Laurent river swells and 30 knts+ of NE wind. After sailing I was stressing about the wheels when I pulled into the classic french garage and explained my problem "Estie tabarnac" was one of the many colourfull phrases my pea soup lovin' new friend muttered. Then he noticed my missing gas cap. "vous ĂȘtes idiot" he said, which I thought was harsh but then again maybe he was right. After a bottle of gas line anti freeze and a new cap ripped from one of the rusty junked cars these garages typically have lying around, I was back in business and headed for Nova Scotia. Thanks Frenchy.
