South shore story

Brown's reef is the big wave spot just upwind of Diamond head beach park. On a good south swell the sets can reach mast high and have a surprising amount of juice for the south shore. Usually a windsurfer is the best vehicle to ride this wave and more often than not the wind is light on the inside.

It was just such a day when after getting a few screaming rides that I found myself working upwind towards the mansions on Black point when a huge set came in and pummeled me as I slogged through the impact zone. I was separated from my rig and driven in to shore where I crawled up on the beach grabbed what was left of my rig and looked up at the shoreline. At that moment I got quite a shock. An impossibly proportioned couple were being filmed in the act by a porn crew. The groaning twosome kept it up as I gathered myself and slowly sailed back out through the reef taking long looks back.
