The nose ring's in North Van will tell you there is no better Mtn Biking in the world than in Vancouver. The raw foodists in San Fran will say what about Mt Tam? "we invented Mtn Biking."

However, yesterday in west Quebec the Biking was very very good. Two weeks of snow melted after several days of warm weather making for one last epic muddy day in Gatineau park.

The northern reaches of the park or so unused you can ride trails all day and see no one else.
The lucky few residents can pedal away from their chalets in the morning, procure "deux oeufs & Bacon avec feves au lard et roti brun" at the entrance to the trails. Hit it hard all day and be back fire side before dark.
