Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
You fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.
...You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
...Every year is getting shorter; never seem to find the time...
-- "Time" from The Dark Side of the Moon: Pink Floyd
Ok so that page is a bit on the heavy side but the jist of it is that time slows down the older you get. Thus there is less time between any two events. The start of a day and the end of a day. Therefore life seems to speed by. Get it?
The most interesting thing in that article that rings true to me is that once you settle into a predictable routine, where all your daily activities are things you have done before you will perceive time as flying by.
Keep your life devoid of routine, make the unexpected part of your life maybe by traveling or even living life completely on the edge and you will find the days and years may not seem to slip by so quickly. As you look back routine events all blend causing a memory of time flying by, New events stick out. Challenging your backward perception It makes life seem longer.
For children almost everything is new.
I guess watching kids can teach you a lot about time and the perception of it.
I love reading about the physics of it all if your interested in that sort of thing you must check these books out The Last three Minutes
